Our Students, our Pride!

Outstanding success comes to the students of BJS Wagholi Education Rehabilitation Centre in 10TH STD. The Students from Melghat-Thane tribal region and from farmer suicide affected families of Marathwada, studying in BJS’ Wagholi Education Rehabilitation Centre have passed successfully in the exam of standard 10th. Unfortunately only two students did not pass the exam.  Since 1993, BJS' Wagholi Education Rehabilitation Centre (WERC) gives free education and all other facilities to the students from Std 5 to Std 12 that face problem due to natural calamities at various places.  Out of this, 67 tribal students appeared for STD 10th Exam. And it is notable that 28 percent of these students got more than 70% marks in the exam. Out of these students, Umesh Prakash Bhandari tops the chart with 91%.

When in 1997, the children from Melghat were brought to the hostel; the passing percentage was only 20-30 percent. But afterwards, Wagholi Education Rehabilitation Centre took efforts on these students and we take pride in saying that since last ten years, the percentage of passing is 97 to 100. The rise in this percentage is an important factor and it really shows the hard work of the students as well as the teachers and their parents. 63% of tribal students have scored more than 61%. In this, three students from our school have got more than 90% and have secured position in merit list.

BJS brought 288 children of suicide-hit farmer families of Marathwada to Wagholi Education Rehabilitation Centre. Amidst of much difficulties, these students have worked hard and have passed the exam successfully.  The students of 10th STD from Marathwada got only 2-3 months to study. They gave the exam at the centers in their own villages. All these students' family condition is very bad, their fathers have committed suicide in recent past and hence the condition at their homes was very tense. In this adverse condition also, in a very less span, these students have performed well in the STD 10th exam.  So, this outstanding success of these students is the fruit of real hard work and unanimous spirit of every one behind Wagholi Education Rehabilitation Centre.
